Anna da Silva Chen is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading concert violinists, known for her passion and virtuosity as a concerto soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster and director. She coleads the Alma Moodie Quartet and has been a member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra since 2024. ​​

American cellist Annie Jacobs-Perkins' playing has been praised for her “hypnotic lyricism, causing listeners to forget where they were for a moment” (Alex Ross, The New Yorker) and for "delightfully pluck[ing] and slapp[ing] her cello like a rockabilly upright bassist" (The Democrat and Chronicle). In her Hayes Street Studio debut Annie performs the iconic Cello Suite No. 3 in C major, BWV 1009 by J.S Bach, alongside two trios with flautist Rosie Gallagher and pianist Lee Dionne: Cendres (Ashes) by Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho and the stormy Trio in D minor, Op. 11 by Fanny Mendelssohn.

Hayes Street Studio presents Principal Clarinetist of the London Philharmonic Orchestra Benjamin Mellefont in recital with Sydney-born pianist Vatche Jambazian. The duo will present a recital for clarinet and piano. 

Benjamin Mellefont was born in Sydney, Australia. He was appointed Principal Clarinet of the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2019, having previously held the same position with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and has performed with both orchestras as a soloist. He regularly appears as Guest Principal with many of the orchestras in the UK and Australia, and at festivals such as Salzburg, Edinburgh and Aldeburgh.

Featuring performer Elizabeth Jigalin, oboist Phoebe Xu, and bassoonist Todd Gibson-Cornish, alongside co-directors Lee Dionne and Rosie Gallagher, the night showcases trippy wind writing in Harry Sdraulig's Hat-trick (2020); unique performance piece Aphasia (2009) by Mark Applebaum, described as a depiction of “expressive paralysis;” Thomas Adès’ Darknesse Visible (1992), Antal Dorati's pièces pour le hautbois seul (1980) and a sprinkling of delight in Poulenc’s Trio for oboe, bassoon and piano (1924).

Hayes Street Studio presents Korean-Australian violinist Suyeon Kang alongside Australian pianist Laurence Matheson. In a rare opportunity for Australian audiences, Suyeon returns to Sydney from her current home base in Berlin, where she enjoys a versatile international performance career and a recent appointment as the newest member of the renowned Belcea Quartet. Suyeon has been praised for her "incredible maturity…more than mere playing of the music but an appreciation and understanding of its possibilities, [bringing] out qualities of ecstasy, pathos and introspection – at times appearing to be a human, animal or avian presence, intruding into the landscape or soaring above it.’ (National Business Review, NZ). She is joined by pianist Laurence Mattheson, one of Australia’s most exciting young musicians, in demand across the country as a soloist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist.
